The Buddhist Kingdom of Bhutan awaits, nestled high in the Himalayas its isolation from the world has cultivated a culture rich in traditions, religion and a benevolent monarchy. The dramatic landscapes, from snow capped peaks and deeply forested slopes to raging, boulder strewn rivers, sit largely undisturbed environment. The program takes you into this ancient Kingdom for an adventure into the hearts and lands of charming farmers, fascinating weavers, enchanting monks and charismatic leaders.
Arrive in Paro by Bhutan Airlines, where the flight rewards you with breathtaking views of majestic mountains and rolling landscapes. Upon arrival, after completing visa formalities, you will be warmly received by our representative and transferred to Thimphu (54 kms).
Lunch:
During your stay, you will explore the iconic Buddha Dordenma statue, and in the evening. Visit Thimphu’s lively night markets to see local crafts and taste traditional food.

AM Sightseeing: After breakfast drive to Docula Pass for panoramic Himalayan views. On the way back down stop by Motithang Mini Zoo to see the rare “Takin,” Bhutan’s national animal.
Lunch:
After Lunch visit the Bhutan cultural center. Later visit the Memorial Chorten, built in memory of the late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck.
Later in the evening, witness the flag lowering at Tashichho Dzong and explore the area. Evening market free time.

After breakfast, proceed 1 hour drive to Paro. Paro sightseeing - visit the ruined fortress of Drugyel Dzong which still attracts visitors due to the
strategic location of the fort. The fort defended the Paro Valley from the Tibetan invasion from the north in the early 17th century.
Lunch and visit Paro town.
Evening free time.

Commence for day hike to Taktsang Monastery. The uphill hike about 2-3 hours through villages and pine forests.
The monastery clings to a huge granite cliff 800 meters from the Paro Valley. It is believed that the great saint Padmasambhava came in the 7th century on a flying tigress and meditated in a cave for 3 months.
