About this tour

At the Himalayan frontier, it is not only about the panorama, but being at the vintage point for the best view and most importantly, the moment. An indelible memory, where all endeavors culminate into a triumph. At One Globe, we aim to be at the heart of every step a traveler takes to make it a memorable journey. Most travelers are made to choose generic packages, a compromise at its best. The perspective of the traveler is often preceded by that of the operator. The foundation of our principle has been to re-invoke the significance of the traveler enabling a seamless transition every step of the way. With much experienced personnel in the travel business, despite our maturing presence in the Nepalese market, our objective to gain a stronghold shall surely be sooner than later. Tours and treks or regional ticket sales, all travel services are yours to choose. From tea-house treks to camping in the Himalayan wilderness, we will lead you through forest trails and idyllic villages. City tours of ancient squares and of Hindu and Buddhist landmarks will enlighten your cultural perspective. White-water rafting, canoying, cycling, or paragliding your thirst for adventure at its best will surely be quenched.

Situated 29km west of Lumbini, 3 km north-west of Taulihawa, Tilaurakot was rediscovered in 1899 by P.C. Mukherji and is recognized by many scholars as to the ancient capital city of the Kapilavastu, the Sakya kingdom where Prince Siddhartha spent his early life. Tilaurakot exhibits perfect features of ancient palace architecture as it is at a higher elevation secured by a wide and tall fortification wall and a moat encircling it from outside. Archaeological excavations at Tilaurakot have revealed Grey ware (8/9th century BC), NBP (5/6th century BC); coin minting factory, palace structures, temples, ponds, roads, earth ramparts, brick fortification, ancient habitation and various antiquities within thirteen layers of human depositions dated from 9/8th century BC to 2-3 century AD. These findings support the fact that Tilaurakot had been a capital city.

Fly back from Lumbini to Kathmandu. Flight duration is of approx. 30 mins. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, transfer & check in to hotel. Later in the afternoon, proceed for the tour of Bouddhanath stupa & Swoyambhunath stupa. Bouddhanath stupa was probably built in the 14th century after the Mughal invasions; various interesting legends are told regarding the reasons for its construction. After the arrival of thousands of Tibetans following the 1959 Chinese invasion, the temple has become one of the most important centers of Tibetan Buddhism. Today it remains an important place of pilgrimage and meditation for Tibetan Buddhists and local Nepalese, as well as a popular tourist site. Later proceed to Swoyambhunath stupa. Swoyambhunath said to be around 2000 years old, this Buddhist Stupa sits atop a hill composed of a solid hemisphere of brick and earth supporting a lofty conical spire crowned by a pinnacle of Copper gilt. The hill of Swoyambhu is a mosaic of small Chaityas and Pagoda temples. You’ll get a scenic view of Kathmandu city from there. The complex consists of a stupa, a variety of shrines and temples, some dating back to the Licchavi period. A Tibetan monastery, museum and library are more recent additions. The stupa has Buddha's eyes and eyebrows painted on. Between them, the number one (in Devnagari script) is painted in the fashion of a nose.
